SYNOD PREPARATIONS, ST FRANCES OF ROME

INTRODUCTION (updated 13/1/22)

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

You have already heard a little from Father Nick about Pope Francis’ Global Synod initiative. Pope Francis is asking us, within our own parishes, to reflect together on our journey into the third millennium through the medium of prayer guided by the Holy Spirit.

To this end, we will be making a short presentation at the end of Mass on Sunday 30th January during which we will give a few more details and invite everybody to a meeting to be held on Wednesday 9th February at 6:30 pm. The purpose of the meeting will be to express our hopes and concerns for our future as the St. Frances of Rome community as we journey forward together.

We will then publish the text of our presentation in this newsletter and make leaflets available for further reflection in advance of the meeting. There is a fairly short timescale. We, as parish delegates, are required to report back to the Diocese in March next year.

Pope Frances is asking us to reach out to as many people as possible both within and on the periphery of our community. Please help us to make this happen.

Jon and Lindsay Wise, Ross-on-Wye Delegates to the Cardiff Diocesan Synod. (1/12/21) – updated 13/1/22
